Makers
Makers can use the Power Pages design studio to customize templates according to their specific requirements.
Application Processing Template
The application processing template demonstrates the features of an application submission site using a building permit application as an example. It is suitable for any organization or industry that wants to create an application submission portal.
Users
The template is designed for three main types of users:
- Resident customer (unauthenticated) – Users who want to browse permit types and requirements without creating a profile.

Resident customer (authenticated) – Users who have created a profile
and want to apply for a permit.
- Web role: “[Building Permit] C2 – User (Default)”

Government permit administrator – Responsible for managing the status
of building permits.
- Web role: “[Building Permit] C1 – Admin Unauthenticated Resident”
Resident Customer
Resident capabilities depend on whether they are authenticated (have a profile) or unauthenticated.
Unauthenticated Residents
Residents without a profile can:
- View available permit types
- See descriptions and timelines for each permit type
- Review the application process information
Authenticated Residents
Residents with a profile can:
- View detailed requirements for submitting applications online
- Submit permit applications online
- Track the status of submitted applications
- View previously submitted permits (read-only)
- Withdraw submitted permits
- Receive email notifications
Government Permit Administrator
Administrators can:
- View all submitted applications
- Access a summary snapshot of application statuses
- Update the status of submitted applications
- Automatically notify residents via email when their application status changes
