What are Canvas Apps?

Canvas apps are a type of Power Apps application in Microsoft Power Platform. They let you design applications visually by dragging and dropping elements onto a canvas—similar to designing a slide in PowerPoint. This gives makers complete control over layout, style, and functionality, enabling highly tailored solutions that connect seamlessly to business data.

Build an App Canvas apps are built using drag-and-drop interactions. You can: Drag and drop controls onto the canvas Reposition and resize elements Group and align controls using snap-to-grid Drag data sources like Dataverse or Excel into your app Customize screens, galleries, and forms After generating an app automatically, you can customize it by modifying layout, controls, and workflows. You may also start from scratch for full flexibility with design and data source integration.

Share and Run an App Once your app design is ready: Save it to the cloud. Share it with your team or organization, specifying who can run, edit, or redistribute the app. Run apps on Windows, web browsers, iOS, or Android devices.
