Add a Search Component
The Search Component allows users to quickly find content across your Microsoft Power Pages website. By adding a search experience to your portal, users can easily discover relevant pages, information, and resources without manually navigating through the site.
Note: The Search Component is currently a preview feature with limited functionality and is not recommended for production environments. It only works on websites where Generative AI Search has been enabled.How to Add a Search Component
- Open Power Pages Design Studio.
- Select the page where you want to add the search component.
- Choose the section where the search bar should appear.
- Hover over an editable area on the canvas.
- Select the Search component from the component panel.
- Configure the search properties as required.
- Save and publish your changes.
Search Bar Properties

Search Summary
The Search Summary section displays an AI-generated summary of content retrieved from your website. This helps users quickly understand the most relevant information without opening multiple pages.

Add a Search Results Page
Power Pages includes a default search results page. However, you can create a custom search results page to provide a tailored search experience.
- Open Design Studio.
- Select + Page.
- Choose Other Ways to Add Page.
- Enter a page name.
- Select Search Standard Page Layout.
- Select Add.
Restore or Reassign a Search Results Page
If you need to restore or change the search results page, use the Site Marker configuration in Portal Management.
- Open the Portal Management app.
- Navigate to Site Markers.
- Select the Search site marker.
- Update the page associated with the search results page.
- Save your changes.
Known Issues
When creating a new search results page using the Search Standard Page Layout, the old search control may briefly appear before the page fully loads.
Known Issue Fix: Remove the legacy search control code snippet from the Header Web Template to prevent the old search component from briefly appearing during page load.Benefits of Using Search Components
