SharePoint Integration with Power Apps Code Apps
- Power Apps SDK enables secure connection to SharePoint lists from code apps
- Generated models and services support full CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete)
- Integration is managed using PAC CLI and the Power Apps SDK
Prerequisites
- Power Apps SDK (@microsoft/power-apps)
- PAC CLI version 1.50+
- Connected Power Platform environment
Supported Capabilities
- Add SharePoint lists as data sources using PAC CLI
- Perform CRUD operations on SharePoint list items
- Get possible values for Choice, Lookup, or Person/Group columns
Application Setup & Data Operations
1. App Initialization:- Ensure the Power Apps SDK is fully initialized before any data operation
- Prevents runtime errors caused by missing context or services
- SharePoint list added as a data source generates:
- Model files (data structure)
- Service files (API operations)
- Services are used directly in the app for data access
- Read: Fetch all items or a single record from the list
- Create & Update:
- Use expanded objects for Choice, Lookup, and Person fields
- Exclude internal # properties from payloads
- Delete: Remove SharePoint list items using record ID
Limitations
- Document libraries, permissions, and sync operations are not supported
- Advanced scenarios require custom services
